Vicky Martin

Vicky is one of the two Delta Ladies and the founder and lead vocalist / guitarist of Elephant Shelf. V comes from a background of Essex based (Burnham-on-Crouch R&B bands, a couple of Irish showbands. It was a wide and varied life pre-Shelf – construction industry, the Church, betting shops. Along the way Madam has met Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ian Anderson, Wilko Johnson and played with such as Art Themen, Ina Sharples, Rafael Ravenscroft, and Louis Cenammo and Pete Mariosa – both in the Five Dimensions. V’s main musical interests – Miles Davis, Al Bowlly, Gus Viseur, Charlie Mingus, Dylan, The Stones, Richard Thompson, Martin Simpson, Flanagan & Allen.
Diana Stone

Diana is one of the two Delta Ladies; she plays piano and violin in Elephant Shelf plus she contributes vocals and oversees the band’s on-stage sound. Her musical background started on the sound team at Hammersmith Odeon when she met Elton John, Johnny Winter. Sun Ra, Bill Munroe, Di has wide experience writing and recording in various eclectic styles influenced by a wide range of music including ‘prog rock’, ‘jazz and classical styles’. She has been played on Radio 6 and sold downloads worldwide with particular success in Argentina, Paraguay, The Soviet Union and the Isle of Sheppy. Her musical influences include classicists such as Vaughan Williams, Vivaldi, jazzers such as Joe Vennuti, Stephan Grappeli, Prog rockers such as Gong and Caravan. She is also a big fan of vintage stylists – Al Bowlly, Fats Waller, Gus Viseur, Barbara Streisand – eclectic? Yes you could say that. Diana also has a blog .
